Power outages related to severe weather are common. Generally power is restored within hours but planning for power outages that last a day or two is advisable. Below are food safety tips to consider when the power is out from Riverside County’s Environmental Health Department.
If electricity is off for one hour or less:
Food held in refrigerators or freezers may still be safe when the power outage is of a short duration.
