Things like games and puzzles will help pass the time if your family is evacuated to a shelter. When it comes to emergency food and water, children (especially picky eaters) might not eat enough or stay properly hydrated if the food and water tastes different than they are used to. Try to find emergency food items children might like and powered drink mixes can help improve the taste of stored or sterilized water.

Kids Activity Survival Kit
You may have to leave your house during a disaster and may need sleep somewhere else (such as an evacuation shelter) for a while. It’s smart to put together your own “Kid’s Activity Survival Kit” so children will have things to do. These can all be stored in a backpack or duffel bag.
